Badlands National Park

Wow!! Badlands National Park is very pretty. We were up for the sun rise and the scenery. Stayed in the area for about half an hour watching a number of deer play and feed on the trail where we needed to pass. Carmen did not want to interrupt them.

We traveled the "loop" road stopping at the various overlooks and hiking along several of the trails in the park. All gorgeous and as Carmen said "... you can not describe this, it has to be seen." I have two pictures which hopefully show some of the highlights (which are many) but two pictures comes very short of describing the beauty.

Yesterday (9/3) we say Deer, rabbits, big horn sheep, prairie dogs, bison, and several hawks (one trying to score a kill right in front of us, it missed), there has also been an Owl hooting around the motor home but I did not see it.

Spent several hours by the camp fire last night and I must say, retirement is starting out pretty good! Can't say what it will be like in another month but so far so good. Hey Goober, still going good!!

Today (9/4) we are headed to the Black Hills area. Planning on seeing Mt. Rushmore and maybe get up to Deadwood and Sturgis if we have time.

Sounds awesome Dad- I love road trips you never know what you will see. Keep having fun. Take lots of pictures when you are not driving.
